Holly Sher is a Registered Psychotherapist who graduated from Yorkville University’s Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2019. Prior to this, she worked in community mental health, serving some of the most complex and vulnerable in our communities. Holly specializes in working with individuals 14 + on areas such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, self-esteem and trauma.
Holly’s approach is warm, compassionate, and intuitive. Mindful awareness is at the centre of it all. She aims to deliver therapy that incorporates the body’s nervous system, in order to help facilitate deeper healing capacity. Holly also takes an attachment-oriented approach, which posits how earlier interactions can offer important clues as to where we find ourselves now. She offers an ideal combination of learning skills to manage distress and delving into deeper inner- healing. Each client is treated individually, and each client is the expert on themselves. In addition, Holly is passionate about learning and growth as she continually engages in trainings and workshops to stay on top of the latest evidenced-based approaches.
Holly is registered with both the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, and holds memberships with both the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) and EMDR Canada.
Holly offers virtual therapy to clients in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. Virtual therapy is convenient easy, safe and secure, including EMDR treatment. She offers a free 10 minute consultation to give clients the opportunity to ask questions prior to booking.
