Christopher Fowler
Suite 402-65 Wellesley St East, Toronto, ON, M4Y 1G7
Christopher is a Registered Psychotherapist, and a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists. Drawing on his psychotherapy studies as well as his background as an actor, educator, and activist, Christopher brings his diverse personal and professional experience into the therapy room. While working with Christopher, you can expect to explore your life in a nonjudgmental, supportive, and creative space. He specializes in working with sexual and gender minorities, arts workers, and professionals from high-stress industries.
Through a trauma-informed lens, Christopher's work focuses on understanding how we exist in relationship with others and how our present lives continue to be affected by relational experiences from the past. This way of healing is well suited for those suffering from anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, relationship struggles, and work-related stress. Christopher brings his passions for language, stories, and social justice to his work. Truly understanding yourself involves engaging with your life story, putting your life in the context of the social, cultural, and systemic forces that have affected you. This is a process of understanding what has been wrong for you, not what is wrong with you.
Christopher is available for weekly psychotherapy and more intensive, twice-weekly psychoanalytic psychotherapy. These forms of therapy are ideal for those who wish to enhance the way they understand themselves and their relationships, find greater purpose in life, and process past experiences.
Christopher holds a BFA from Toronto Metropolitan University and an MA in Counselling Psychology with distinction from Yorkville University. He is currently a trainee in the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. His work integrates psychodynamic, relational, humanistic, narrative, experiential, and cognitive behavioural approaches to support you in achieving your desired outcomes.
