There is a powerful and beautiful potential for healing inherent in moments when someone can allow themself to be fully seen, heard, and supported by a well-matched therapist. This relationship is not something to take lightly. One-size-does-not-fit-all when it comes to choosing a professional to work with, and finding the balance that allows trust and growth to flourish is essential.

Drawing on training across a range of therapeutic disciplines, Ray works primarily from Gestalt and Existential modalities, with an emphasis on building a relational, client-centred practice. This approach welcomes the unique socio-cultural intersections that shape how each client experiences and navigates the world.

Ray values directness, care, and attunement, integrating these as cornerstones of their work as they support clients in making sense of their feelings, patterns, and responses to life’s unpredictability, while also gently challenging them to move toward an existence that feels authentic and true.

Ray’s own life experiences, including as a queer and gender-nonconforming individual, have afforded them an appreciation and eagerness to connect with folks from diverse communities. They are committed to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that holds humility, compassion, and ongoing learning as central tenets of their practice.

A background in theatre and breathwork has also left its mark, with somatics playing a key role in their “bottom-up” approach; what does the body tell us that our mind may not understand yet?

Outside of their professional life, Ray can be found back-up dancing in an experimental pop band, enjoying slow mornings with good coffee, and long-distance thru-hiking with their partner and friends.

Ray is honoured to get to work alongside people as they take an important step - whether for the first or fiftieth time - toward their own healing and growth.

Ray is a therapist in training committed to a therapeutic framework that is anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and sex-positive. They have experience working with individuals across diverse communities, with a specific emphasis on working alongside individuals who are 2SLGBTQI+, non-monogamous/polyamorous, Disabled, living with chronic illness, neurodivergent, and/or woman-identified.
