(also virtual sessions)
Sahar is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), currently supporting children, adults, and couples. She holds graduate degrees in Human Development and Counseling Psychology, and has diverse clinical experience including group therapy and crisis intervention in acute psychiatric units for addictions and psychosis, as well as out-patient support for children and families with special needs. Sahar draws from both scholarship and practice to provide comprehensive care tailored to the needs of each client.
At the heart of her practice is a depth-oriented approach grounded in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic principles. Sahar supports her clients not just in managing symptoms, but in exploring the deeper emotional patterns, unconscious dynamics, and long-standing internal and relational struggles that may be holding them back from living fulfilling lives. Her work emphasizes healing from the inside out—developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and more meaningful connections to oneself and others.
While psychodynamic therapy is her foundation, Sahar is an integrative therapist trained in several modalities, including:
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
- DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
- EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)
- Somatic Experiencing
- Art Therapy
- Child-Centred Play Therapy
She customizes treatment for each client, often blending approaches to address both immediate challenges and deeper, underlying causes. Alongside insight-based work, Sahar teaches clients practical skills using CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to find relief from symptoms like anxiety, stress, and overwhelm.
Sahar has extensive experience supporting a wide range of clients, including:
- Healthcare Professionals
- Neurodivergent individuals and families (ADHD, Autism)
- Couples facing communication, intimacy, and relational challenges
- Clients navigating grief, burnout, chronic pain, and emotional distress
- Individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low motivation, and attention/focus issues
- Children
In her couples work, Sahar helps partners break out of repetitive, destructive patterns by uncovering and resolving the deeper emotional and relational dynamics at play. She is trained in Psychodynamic Couples Therapy (NICABM) and is Core Skills Certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (ICEEFT). She brings a warm, direct approach to supporting couples with issues related to communication, emotional closeness, infidelity, conflict, and sexual intimacy.
Sahar’s practice is culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodiversity-informed. She works from a place of authenticity and respect, creating a safe space for clients from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Sahar is a proud member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
